Fourth Generation Easyshade Technology Offers Greater Speed and Reliability

(Brea, CA) – Building on the popular VITA Easyshade digital shade matching system, VITA is pleased to introduce the fourth generation of Easyshade technology with the new VITA Easyshade Advance 4.0. Optimal shade determination is now easier than ever, thanks to new functions for automatic measurement. With cutting edge measurement technology and durable LED components, VITA Easyshade Advance 4.0 offers precision that is twice as effective as that of the human eye.

A new “average” mode in the Easyshade Advance 4.0 allows users to measure up to 30 shades on a single tooth and arrive at an overall average shade, making the determination of a base shade on tricky anteriors, even simpler. And the user no longer has to worry about placing the probe tip precisely perpendicular to the tooth surface. The shade measure button can be depressed prior to placement and the Easyshade Advance 4.0 will automatically measure when proper placement is achieved.

Using Bluetooth, the measurement data can be wirelessly transferred to the VITA Assist communication software on operatory computers. The results are displayed in both international shade standards for VITA classical A1-D4 and VITA 3D-MASTER. VITABLOCS shades can also be specified. The data for the exact display of bleaching effects can also be displayed in accordance with the internationally recommended scale from the American Dental Association.

Vident has been a provider of innovative dental products since 1985 and is the North American subsidiary of VITA, manufacturer of the internationally recognized Classical Shade Guide, 3D-Master Shade System, Easyshade Compact, VITA ENAMIC and other quality VITA restorative materials. For information on VITA Easyshade Advance 4.0 and other quality products, call 800-828-3839 or visit Vident’s website at www.vident.com.

Proven Tooth Whitening System Now Integrates ADA Shade Levels

(Brea, CA) – Planning and monitoring the tooth whitening process has never been easier or more accurate than with the newly enhanced VITA Bleachedguide 3D-Master. The proven VITA Bleachedguide 3D-Master now integrates the 29 shade levels defined by the American Dental Association (ADA), the globally recognized standard for shade level assessment.

VITA Bleachedguide 3D-Master also includes additional numerical designations, supporting clear communication between the dentist and the patient. The numerical units of the VITA Beachedguide 3D-Master are based on the brightness levels as defined by the ADA and facilitate accurate recording of shade changes during the bleaching process. This allows the dentist and patient the ability to discuss the desired result of the tooth bleaching procedure prior to treatment using the shade samples, and then to check the result after treatment has been completed.

(Brea, CA) VITA is proud to introduce an entirely new category of CAD/CAM material, VITA ENAMIC®, the first hybrid dental ceramic in the world with a dual-network structure that combines the best properties of ceramic and composite materials.

The dominant ceramic network structure and the reinforcing polymer network structure of VITA Enamic are fully merged with one another, similar to the way that steel reinforces concrete. With the dual ceramic-polymer network, the new composite incorporates the benefits of ceramic and composite materials in one revolutionary new product. Materials science testing shows that VITA Enamic offers exceptionally high fracture load capacity, while also ensuring extraordinary levels of elasticity and integrated crack prevention.

VITA Enamic features significantly less brittleness than a pure dental ceramic as well as abrasion properties superior to that of conventional composite materials, resulting in characteristics similar to those of natural dentition. VITA Enamic is extremely resistant to the shear and compressive forces of the jaw and natural teeth, allowing the material to be used for a variety of applications.

Enamic CAD/CAM blocks, which are classed as a ceramic for insurance purposes, are not only suitable for fabricating inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns for anterior and posterior applications and crowns over implants, but due to reduced wall thickness, can be used for minimally-invasive restorations such as no-prep veneers and restorations in areas where space is limited.

“We are extremely pleased with the combination of precision, speed and esthetics we have achieved with Enamic,” said Fred Ketcho, CEO of Vident, A VITA Company. “This innovative material has the potential to revolutionize what clinicians think about their CAD/CAM material choices and accelerate their CAD/CAM adoption rate. The simple mill, polish and place process of Enamic dramatically reduces chairtime and improves productivity. And the fantastic clinical properties for which VITA is known, makes Enamic a powerful addition to our stable of CAD/CAM products.”

In the first product phase, VITA Enamic will be available in block size EM-14 (12 x 14 x 18 mm), as well as in 3D-Master shades 0M1, 1M1, 1M2, 2M2 and 3M2 in two degrees of translucency. This innovative hybrid ceramic can be processed using the Sirona CEREC and inLab systems, using software version >4.0. In comparison with pure ceramics, milling can be completed more quickly and with significantly less tool wear, saving valuable time and resources. Internal studies at VITA resulted in 148 milled crowns in normal mode without needing to change burs, compared to 14-18 for other CAD/CAM materials. 132 crowns were able to be milled in fast mode, with a time of 5:13 for a posterior crown (9:07 in normal mode) and a remarkable 4:40 for an inlay.

VITA Enamic is also highly reliable and offers greater precision, improved edge stability and, as a result, finer, more accurate outcomes than what’s possible with conventional dental ceramics. With the corresponding polishing set from VITA, the material can be quickly polished to a high, esthetic shine. Glazing using light polymerization is also an option. Natural shade nuances can be achieved using one of six light-curing stains. The hybrid ceramic is already at full strength and can be used directly following milling and does not require further processing.

VITA Enamic will be available beginning February 2013. Vident has been a provider of innovative dental products since 1985 and is the North American subsidiary of VITA, manufacturer of the internationally recognized Classical Shade Guide, 3D-Master Shade System, Easyshade Compact, VITABLOCS MARK II and other quality VITA restorative materials. For information on VITA Enamic and other quality products, call 800-828-3839 or visit www.vident.com.

VITA VM13 was used to veneers the laboratories Bego Wiron 99 alloy copings. The program detailed the ease of use and time saving building techniques of VITA VM porcelains. Mark introduced the participants to the effects of the VITA Interno stains to create natural effects often found in enamel structures.

The new ‘Sun’ dentin modifiers together with VM translucent effect powders from the professional kit were used to complete the case in two firings and a low temperature glaze with VITA’s LT at 780/C.

(Brea, CA) – With the development of the first ever metal ceramic in 1962, VITA created a completely new market. For the first time, dental technicians were able to build long-term aesthetic, natural-looking restorations. With the innovation, VITA forever cemented their reputation as a leader in the industry and a manufacturer of cutting-edge dental technology. VITA has continued to enhance their products, leading the way in the field of tooth-colored veneering materials as well as in the dental technology industry worldwide.

VITA’s dynamic process continued with the introduction of porcelain products that became known as the industry standard, offering vitality, consistent quality, shade fidelity and accuracy. VITA VMK was one of VITA’s inaugural products and offers the lab technician, dentist and patient exceptional physical properties, handling characteristics and, due to its fine structure, clinical wear characteristics that mimic natural tooth enamel. The ever-growing demands on the functionality and aesthetics of metal ceramic restorations posed the challenge of developing materials that enabled the dental technician to achieve a lifelike result with relatively little effort. VMK “VITA Metal Keramik” from VITA met that challenge.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of VMK, VITA will is offering limited edition porcelain kits for VM9, VM13 and VMK Master veneering material. The special edition kits feature commemorative packaging and are available in small and large sizes. The small kit contains six bottles, which includes one free bottle. The larger kit includes 10 bottles, plus two free bottles for a total of 12. A nostalgic, tin-plate sign is included with every large kit order. All kits include 50 gram bottles only. A creative competition and internet quiz with special prizes can be found at www.vita-zahnfabrik.com.

Vident has been a provider of innovative dental products since 1985 and is the North American subsidiary of VITA, manufacturer of the internationally recognized Classical Shade Guide, 3D-Master Shade System, Easyshade Compact and quality VITA restorative materials. For information on VITA VM porcelain and other quality products, call 800-828-3839.

Founder Dr. Anthony Hatch has transformed his new Scripps Rock Dental office in San Diego, Calif. from a conventional business park office with a white-walled interior into a vibrant, colorful space that sings. The move from Hatch Dental on Wexford Street to the new Scripps Rock Dental in Scripps Ranch was a labor of love. With everything from musically inspired artwork to traditional and trendy guitars on the walls, Scripps Rock Dental seems to be hitting all the right notes with its patients.

Participants recently traveled to the Brea, CA headquarters of Vident to participate in a dynamic two-day program on Fixed Implant Dentures. Led by Vident Advocate and Purinton Dental Lab Owner, Dennis Purinton, CDT, and Nobel Procera Specialist with Nobel Biocare, Joe T. Perillo, CDT, the workshop addressed cross-department communication and the fusion between the implants and denture. The course covered the clinical aspects of impression taking, record base and occlusal rims and the expectations that a technician should have from the clinical office prior to bar fabrication: mid-line, lip-line, cuspid line and correct VDO. Selection of appropriate mould, posterior cuspal inclination, occlusal scheme and tooth arrangement relative to proposed implant bar design was discussed. Each attendee participated in hands-on training of the denture set-up process, followed by the process of fabrication of the wrap-around bar, including proper model development, bar design, scanning and milling techniques. Participants also learned about the selection of the right precision attachment for the right case design for alternate overdenture bar designs.
